“Best In Show” winner in the 2024 Piccolo Spoleto Juried exhibition and First Place winner of the 2024 Artfields Portrait Contest, Steve Cefalo, leads this fun and informative class!
Drawing the figure can be a very academic process, focusing on anatomy, proportion, and value, through longer poses. It can also be gestural and expressive, focusing on rhythm and mark-making.
Drawing from a variety of live models, this class will be combining both approaches to create figure drawings with both accuracy and expression. We will learn how to pace a longer pose in order not to draw ourselves “into a corner”, but to keep the process creative and engaging, with a foundation of great structure and proportions.
Cefalo’s teaching approach is friendly, encouraging, and informational.
